On Sep. 24th, 2009, Professor Makoto Watanabe from Chiba University visited School of Design. Dean He Renke together with Professor Ji Tie warmly welcomed his visiting and introduced to him the up-to-date information of teaching, researching and international exchanging in School of Design.

8月22日～9月20日，“收藏—中岛英树”展在深圳华•美术馆举行。展览全面、立体地回顾和展示被视为日本当代最杰出的平面设计大师之一的中岛英树创作的海报设计、书籍、CD封套设计、产品设计等作品共359件。展览期间，组织方邀请了多位活跃在第一线的设计师，他们在多个设计相关领域，以全新的视野、角度与态度工作，代表了中国平面设计一代创作者的最新尝试。在本次研讨中，作为实践者与研究者的他们，在现场转为设计评论者，来讨论设计的作用、角色以及未来架构：今天的平面设计以何种方式进行反思、研究、批评与实践？

Seminar for Interaction Design modules （II）

A seminar for Interaction Design course module was held on April 8, 2009 in the Continuing Education Building. It is also the last lesson for the course of Foundations of Interaction Design. Students made presentations to publish their works and teachers made comments. Hu Ying, who is the teacher in charge of the course, Tan hao, Yuan Xiang, Tan Zhengyu and some other teachers in the module attended the seminar. Two Nokia researchers, Liu Ying and Wang Wei gave wonderful lectures to students.

The kick-off of the Interaction Design Lectures

The kick-off of the Interaction Design Lectures was held on February 26, 2009 in the Continuing Education Building. Juha-Matti Kyyra, design engineer in Nokia headquarters in Finland, Wang Wei, researcher in Nokia Research Beijing, He Renke, Dean of School of Design, attended the seminar with teachers responsible for the lectures and students who were interested in the courses.

Senior Manager of Nokia Research Center of Beijing Visited Comdesign Lab

Wang Xia, Senior Manager of Nokia Research Center of Beijing, Visited Comdesign Lab together with Wang Wei, who is a researcher in Nokia, on January 9th, 2009. After an in-depth commutation, they showed their interests in building a cooperated lab with Comdesign Lab and planned to start the cooperation trip with School of Design in this spring.
Design Lab: Social Design and Community Action

On the afternoon of November 6th 2008, professor Michael B.LeBlanc of NSCAD Canada gave a speech at School of Design, Hunan University. His topic is “Design Lab: Social Design and Community Action”.During the speech, professor Michael B.LeBlanc answered questions raised by the students and discussed issues such as Canadian design, localized design etc. NSCAD is one of the earliest art university in North America, it is also among the top art universities in that region.

On August 11, 2008, Eric Lang, general manager, Malek Chalabi, product designer, William Ngan, senior user experience designer, who came from the Startup Business Accelerator in Microsoft visited School of Design accompanied by Huang Xuedong, who is a visiting professor in Hunan university, honorary Dean of School of Software and general manager of research and development incubator of Microsoft Research U.S.
